Hong Kong Monetary Authority Chief Executive Eddie Yue said on October 26 that the HKMA will hold the fifth Global Financial Leaders' Investment Summit from November 2 to 4, 2026. The summit will bring together about 280 international financial leaders, including about 120 group chairmen and chief executives, and is a premier event for high-level dialogue and deepening ties within the global financial community. During the summit, financial leaders will discuss macroeconomic trends, financial market changes, and the emerging opportunities and potential risks that technological developments bring to different industries, assets and regions. The summit agenda shows that executives from institutions including Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs, HSBC Holdings, Standard Chartered, Blackstone and PIMCO will take part in the main summit discussion sessions. Since its inception, the Global Financial Leaders' Investment Summit has become a major annual event for Hong Kong's financial sector, drawing heads of the world's leading financial institutions to Hong Kong to exchange views on the global economic and financial landscape. Against a backdrop of rising global economic uncertainty and accelerating technological change, this year's summit topics have drawn particular attention: how macroeconomic trends affect asset allocation, what structural factors lie behind financial market volatility, and how new technologies such as super intelligence will reshape financial services and risk management. For Hong Kong, the summit is not only a high-level industry gathering but also an important window to showcase its status as an international financial center and its function of connecting the mainland and global markets. The organizer said the summit will, through a series of discussions, help participants find cooperation opportunities in a complex environment.
