Costa Cruises Announces on October 26: Nearly 80 Tastings on a Seven-Day Voyage, with Over 100 Pasta Dishes on Board

Monday, October 26, 2026 · World · GSM News

On October 26, Italian cruise line Costa Cruises announced its arrangements for World Pasta Day: on a seven-day voyage, the ships offer more than 100 pasta dishes and nearly 80 tasting opportunities, covering seafood pasta, stuffed pasta, lasagne and contemporary creative preparations, underlining the place of Italian food culture in a cruise holiday. Costa said the menu includes at least 32 seafood and fish preparations and more than 20 stuffed pasta dishes, and that guests can experience different combinations at different restaurants and on different sailings. Readers should note that specific dishes vary by ship, restaurant and sailing, and the cruise line has not confirmed that every dish is available on every ship; guests should go by the onboard menu after boarding. World Pasta Day falls on October 25 each year, and Costa used the 2026 occasion to once again emphasise the Italian character of its onboard dining rather than to launch an entirely new dining programme. For travellers planning a cruise, the practical significance of such announcements lies in pre-trip awareness: guests who enjoy Italian food can give priority to pasta-focused restaurants when making dining reservations and plan their dining experience in advance. In recent years cruise lines have increasingly used food as a differentiator, and pasta, as one of the most recognisable symbols of Italy, has naturally become a focus of promotion. Ultimately, however, the dining experience comes down to ingredients, chefs and service; however impressive the numbers on the menu, they still have to be delivered on board.
