Monday, October 26, 2026 · World · GSM News

On October 26, the third CONNECT.XCITE Middle East and North Africa luxury travel matchmaking event concluded in Abu Dhabi and released its summary: this year's event brought together luxury travel buyers from China and quality travel partners from across the Middle East and Africa, using business meetings, networking activities and destination experiences to strengthen buyer confidence, deepen destination knowledge and lay the groundwork for future luxury travel business. The event included business-to-business meetings held in Abu Dhabi on October 13 and 14 and carefully curated cultural, nature and luxury travel experiences on October 15, with networking activities held at the Ritz-Carlton Abu Dhabi, Grand Canal, W Abu Dhabi – Yas Island and Rosewood Abu Dhabi. Founder Xing Zhang said meaningful connections and first-hand experiences are the core of building travel confidence; this year's event brought Chinese buyers together with Middle East and Africa partners while showcasing Abu Dhabi's unique appeal, and the next focus is helping these conversations turn into relevant itineraries, lasting partnerships and future business. As personalised journeys receive growing attention, the event connects bespoke travel designers and professional buyers with partners able to offer distinctive experiences. For China's outbound travel market, Abu Dhabi has in recent years continued to increase its appeal to Chinese tourists, and the movements of luxury travel buyers often foreshadow the direction of next season's high-end travel products. The organisers said follow-up discussions and product development after the matchmaking will remain the key to turning introductions into actual business.
