The Taipingshan National Forest Recreation Area in Yilan, Taiwan, reopened at 8:00 a.m. on October 26. The park had been closed due to Typhoon Qiangpi; after the typhoon moved away, staff conducted on-site inspections and completed checks and preparation of the environment and facilities within the area, confirming that conditions for opening were met, and the park resumed receiving visitors on October 26. On the reopening day, the park's Bong Bong Train first ran at 9:30 a.m., and the first guided tour of the Taipingshan Club was at 9:50 a.m. Control and opening arrangements differ by area: at the 7-kilometer mark of the Yizhuan Route 1, traffic-light-controlled single-lane two-way traffic is in effect; the Bong Bong Train runs partially to the 1-kilometer point; the Jianqing Huaigu Trail is partially open to 750 meters; the Maoxing Nostalgia Trail is fully closed; at Jiuzhize, the family bathhouses, restaurant, egg-boiling trough and cafe are operating normally, the open-air hot spring area is closed on October 26, and the nude bathing area remains under renovation and is not open. The Yilan Branch of the Forestry and Nature Conservation Agency reminds the public to pay attention to highway authority website information and check weather data when engaging in outdoor activities, so as to maintain travel safety. Information about Taipingshan can be found via the Taipingshan official website, the Taiwan Forest Recreation website and official social media pages. Mountain road and trail conditions may still change after the typhoon, so visitors planning a trip should check the day's announcements again before setting out to avoid local controls affecting their itinerary.
