Monday, October 26, 2026 · World · GSM News

The Halloween event 'Tianmu Halloween 18' in Taipei's Tianmu shopping district held its main event on October 26. Affected by Typhoon Qiangpi, the activities originally scheduled for October 23 and 24 were postponed and adjusted: a 'Night Parade of a Hundred Ghosts' was held on the evening of October 25, and on October 26 the main event took place at Tianmu Sports Park, with partner stores in the shopping district offering trick-or-treating. The main event ran from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on October 26 at Tianmu Sports Park; trick-or-treating at partner stores followed each store's business hours, while supplies lasted. This year's event combined a special Halloween market with a family costume parade, with about 250 partner stores participating in trick-or-treating, making it suitable for families planning a Halloween outing. The Night Parade set off at 7:00 p.m. on October 25 from Shin Kong Mitsukoshi Taipei Tianmu Store, proceeding along Section 2 of Zhongcheng Road to Takashimaya. The organizer, the Tianmu Shopping District Development Association, formally announced the postponement arrangements and reminded the public to follow each organizer's announcements on the day. The same weekend, the Taoyuan Halloween City opening concert was also postponed to October 26, and the Kaohsiung Salty Crispy Chicken Carnival and the Taitung Slow Food Festival were moved to October 25 and 26, showing that many events across Taiwan during the Restoration Day long weekend were rescheduled due to the typhoon. For Taipei residents and visitors, October 26 was the last day of the long weekend, with the Tianmu main event and trick-or-treating running from daytime into the evening; travelers should still watch out for crowds and traffic conditions and confirm each store's trick-or-treating hours in advance.
