Monday, October 26, 2026 · Technology · GSM News

Cupertino, Santa Clara County, California — Apple released a new iPad mini on October 26, and Greg Joswiak, Senior Vice President of Worldwide Marketing, said on X that it is 'the biggest update ever to iPad mini.' According to 9to5Mac, the new model is thinner and lighter, features an OLED display and the A20 Pro chip, and improves water and dust resistance and audio performance; the screen size grows slightly to 8.5 inches, and the 256GB and 512GB models can be configured with a nano-texture display for an additional $100. Joswiak also teased that 'an exciting week is just beginning': Apple has invited media to a 'Pro and tell' experience event in Los Angeles on October 28. According to Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman, Apple may adopt a multi-day release cadence, announcing M6-chip iMac and MacBook Pro models on the 27th and a touchscreen MacBook Pro on the 28th — the latter two items are analyst expectations and have not been confirmed by Apple. Pricing and release dates are as posted on Apple's official website.
