Monday, October 26, 2026 · Entertainment · GSM News

On the evening of October 25, Boston Lights at Franklin Park Zoo remained open to visitors from 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m., with the run continuing through November 2. This year's lantern festival features 55 brand-new large outdoor light installations, and visitors can walk through themed scenes such as an ocean tunnel and an Indian lotus palace. The Chinese lantern scene is especially eye-catching: a giant lantern group shaped like a mythical fish stands up to 75 feet tall, and together with nightly performances of classical Chinese dance, including fan dances, Chinese lantern art becomes an important thread of the festival. According to the organizer, the festival's lanterns are all themed on animals and exotic scenery, with animal-shaped lanterns suited to children as well as large installations ideal for photos; visitors can buy tickets at the gate or book online in advance to save queuing time. For Chinese families in the Boston area, this lantern festival held inside a zoo offers a nighttime outing where children can get to know Chinese lantern culture, and adds festive atmosphere to the weekend nights before Halloween.
