Monday, October 26, 2026 · Society · GSM News

On October 25, St. John the Divine Cathedral in Houston held its annual community event "Oktoberfest on the Boulevard" from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on the church's outdoor grounds at 2450 River Oaks Boulevard, with free admission. According to the organizer, this beloved annual autumn event included food, pumpkin decorating, games, songs and a cake walk, with local vendors selling baked goods, jams, barbecue sauces and salsas on site, and adults 21 and over could taste beer and wine at the church's "Cramer Corner" with ID. Open to families of all ages, the cathedral said this is one of the River Oaks neighborhood's most anticipated community gatherings each autumn, where neighbors can spend a Sunday evening together on the outdoor lawn. For Houston families, this free autumn festival on a cathedral lawn is both relaxed and warm: children can decorate pumpkins by hand while adults reconnect with neighbors over tastings and conversation.
