Charlotte's NoDa Arts District Holds Downtown Candy Crawl on October 25: Families Set Out at 4 p.m.

Monday, October 26, 2026 · Society · GSM News

Charlotte's NoDa arts district held its Downtown Candy Crawl from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on October 25, inviting families to North Davidson Street for a free Halloween trick-or-treat event. Organized by the NoDa neighborhood organization, the event's participating businesses were spread across the downtown NoDa neighborhood, and pop-up vendor stalls were set up on the lawn in front of the Johnston YMCA. The same evening, the Johnston YMCA also held its annual fall festival at the spot known as the "NoDa Front Porch," likewise starting at 4 p.m. and open to families. NoDa is Charlotte's well-known arts district, famous for murals, galleries and independent shops, and the candy crawl combined the Halloween tradition with neighborhood commerce: children could trick-or-treat at participating shops along the street while parents browsed the district's stores. The organizer noted that interested businesses could sign up through a form on its website, and families needed no tickets to take part. Unlike the professional sports events in downtown Charlotte that day, this event was designed specifically for families with children, scheduled before evening — a good fit for a Sunday-afternoon outing in the week before Halloween.
