Cardinals receiver Brooks announces season-ending emergency wrist surgery

Monday, October 26, 2026 · Sports · GSM News

Glendale, Maricopa County, Arizona — Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Jalon Brooks announced on social media on Oct. 26 that he needs emergency surgery for a wrist injury and is done for the season. Brooks wrote that he did not need phone calls, just prayers, and said God is in control of his next step. The Cardinals had previously traded away wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr., giving Brooks more playing time; two weeks ago he made a key catch in an upset win over the Los Angeles Rams that helped set up the game-winning field goal.

Brooks was active in the preseason but spent the regular season behind starters such as Trey McBride and Michael Wilson, entering the rotation only after Harrison's departure. The Cardinals' offense has scored under 20 points in two straight games, and with the offensive line, running backs and receivers hit by injuries in succession, the unit's depth is being tested. Head coach Mike LaFleur previously praised Brooks' resilience in adversity, calling his climb from the preseason a valuable learning process. The team has not announced the surgery date or a recovery plan.
