Fort Walton Beach Man Anthony Bernard Allen Pleads Guilty: 950 Grams of Cocaine and a Loaded Handgun Seized, Faces 5 to 40 Years, Sentencing Set for December 29

Anthony Bernard Allen, 54, of Fort Walton Beach, in Okaloosa County, Florida, has pleaded guilty in federal court to two counts of possession with intent to distribute cocaine and one count of possession of a firearm and ammunition by a convicted felon. The United States Attorney's Office for the Northern District of Florida announced the plea on October 26, with sentencing set for December 29.
Court documents show that on March 19, 2026, law enforcement executed a search warrant at Allen's Fort Walton Beach residence and seized 950 grams of cocaine, 37 grams of cocaine base, a loaded handgun and ammunition. Allen is a convicted felon who cannot legally possess a firearm or ammunition. Less than a month later, on April 17, 2026, officers conducting a traffic stop saw Allen attempt to discard a bag of cocaine onto the ground.
Allen faces a mandatory minimum of 5 years and up to 40 years in federal prison, followed by up to a lifetime of supervised release. Sentencing is scheduled for December 29 at 1:00 p.m. at the United States Courthouse in Pensacola before United States District Judge T. Kent Wetherell, II.
The case was investigated by the Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), with assistance from the Gulf Coast High Intensity Drug Trafficking Areas (HIDTA) Task Force, and is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Brooke D. Lindsay as part of the Department of Justice's Operation Take Back America. United States Attorney John P. Heekin said his office is backing state and federal partners pursuing armed drug traffickers, warning dealers in the district that their days are numbered.
