Alabama Man Sentenced to 151 Months for Sending Computer-Generated Child Sexual Abuse Images to Minors

Grove Hill, Clarke County, Alabama — A 27-year-old man was sentenced on October 26 to 151 months in federal prison for distributing obscene visual representations of the sexual abuse of children, the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of Alabama announced. Chandler Broderick pleaded guilty to the offense on July 27, 2026, and will serve 15 years of supervised release after his prison term.

According to the U.S. Attorney's Office, in August 2024 the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) received an anonymous tip alleging that Broderick was harassing minors online. FBI agents obtained the contents of Broderick's online accounts and discovered that he had sent computer-generated, obscene cartoon images depicting the sexual abuse of children to minors.

United States District Chief Judge Jeffrey U. Beaverstock imposed the sentence. During his imprisonment, Broderick will be required to participate in sex offender treatment and mental health treatment. Upon release, he will be required to register as a sex offender and will be prohibited from having contact with minors. He was also ordered to pay $200 in special assessments.

"Protecting children from online exploitation is a priority for this office, and those who use the internet to expose minors to obscene material depicting child sexual abuse will be held accountable," said U.S. Attorney Sean P. Costello. Jordan Hadfield, Assistant Special Agent in Charge of FBI Mobile, said the FBI will pursue those who sexually exploit children relentlessly and that the sentence demonstrates the serious consequences of preying on vulnerable victims.

The FBI investigated the case, and Assistant U.S. Attorneys Kacey Chappelear and Tandice Blackwood prosecuted it. The case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, the Department of Justice's nationwide initiative launched in May 2006 to combat child sexual exploitation and abuse.
