D.C. Man Antonio Terry, 18, Charged With First-Degree Murder in Shooting Deaths of Boys Aged 12 and 14, Held Without Bond

The U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Columbia announced on October 26 that Antonio Terry, 18, of Washington, D.C., was arrested on October 25, 2026, and charged that day with first-degree murder while armed in the shooting deaths of two youths, ages 12 and 14, that occurred on April 14, 2026. Judge Heide Hermann found probable cause that Terry committed the offense and ordered him held without bond pending a preliminary hearing scheduled for November 9, 2026.
According to court documents, at approximately 3:27 p.m. on April 14, 2026, a stolen black Honda Accord drove up to the entrance of the parking lot of the Circle 7 Express store at 740 Kenilworth Avenue, Northeast. Three masked males got out of the car, opened fire on individuals in the parking lot, and then returned to the car and fled the scene. Two youths, ages 12 and 14, were shot and killed. The U.S. Attorney's Office did not release the names of the two victims.
U.S. Attorney Jeanine Ferris Pirro made the announcement, joined by Interim Chief Jeffery Carroll of the Metropolitan Police Department. The case is being investigated by the Metropolitan Police Department and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Christopher Carson and Yasmin Emrani.
The U.S. Attorney's Office noted that the charges are merely an allegation, and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
