Universal Orlando's Volcano Bay Closes for Extended Maintenance From October 26: Planned Reopening On or Before April 1, 2027
ORLANDO — Universal Orlando Resort's water park Volcano Bay began an extended maintenance closure on October 26, 2026, with a planned reopening "on or before April 1, 2027," according to the schedule published on Universal's official website.
An earlier listed end date was March 24, 2027; the new wording frames April 1 as an outer limit rather than a promise of an earlier return, and the date remains subject to change. Universal has described the shutdown as a scheduled maintenance closure, not a permanent closure or replacement, and the closure affects the entire Volcano Bay water park rather than individual attractions, separate from operations at the resort's other theme parks.
For visitors planning trips to Orlando over the winter season, early 2027 and part of the spring season, Volcano Bay cannot be included in normal park itineraries during the closure; travellers should review ticket conditions and confirm which Universal parks are included in their reservations, and check the official site again as their trip approaches.
