Cedars-Sinai Brings Free Flu Clinics to Los Angeles Communities Starting October 27

Monday, October 26, 2026 · Health · GSM News

Cedars-Sinai announced on October 26 that its community health teams will bring free flu vaccination and health screening clinics to neighborhoods across Los Angeles: the first clinic runs on October 27, with 12 sessions scheduled through November 30. Everyone 6 months and older is welcome, and children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

The 2026-27 flu season is off to an early start, with the highest activity currently reported along the West Coast, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Flu is especially dangerous for young children, adults 65 and older, pregnant women and people with chronic conditions; the CDC recommends a flu vaccine every season for everyone 6 months and older, and antibodies take about two weeks to develop, making vaccination ahead of holiday travel and gatherings especially timely.

The 12 clinic dates and locations: October 27, November 3 and November 30 at WIC Florence (501 E. Florence Ave., Los Angeles); November 1 at Young Israel of Century City (9317 W. Pico Blvd.); November 7 at Northgate Gonzalez Market (944 E. Slauson Ave.) and the Earvin "Magic" Johnson Recreation Area (905 El Segundo Blvd.); November 10 at WIC Manchester (250 E. Manchester Ave.); November 11 at Superior Grocers on Western Ave. (8811 S. Western Ave.); November 12 at Superior Grocers on La Brea Ave. (3480 S. La Brea Ave.); November 16 at the Santa Monica Family YMCA (1332 6th St., Santa Monica); November 17 at the Fairfax Branch Library (161 S. Gardner St.); and November 19 at the YWCA Angeles Mesa Empowerment Center (2519 W. Vernon Ave.).

Most clinics run between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., though hours vary by site, and the nasal spray vaccine will not be offered. Appointments are recommended through California's myturn.cdph.ca.gov by ZIP code, but walk-ins are welcome. Christina Harris, MD, Cedars-Sinai's vice president and chief health equity officer, said the medical center has served vulnerable communities across Los Angeles for more than a century and that being "Here. For L.A." means making care easier to reach where people live, work and gather; those who have not been vaccinated yet still have time, she added.
