Assemblymember Mike Fong Presents $1.5 Million in State Funding for New Sereno Park in Temple City

California Assemblymember Mike Fong (D-Alhambra) joined Temple City Mayor William Man, city officials and community members on October 26 at a ceremonial check presentation for $1.5 million in state funding to build Sereno Park, a new public recreational space in Temple City.
The investment will transform a previously developed property into a neighborhood park. Planned features include natural wood and boulder-based play structures, shaded lawn areas, outdoor fitness equipment, a dry stream bed, a pedestrian bridge and other amenities.
New housing developments are planned nearby, so the park will serve both current and future residents.
“Parks are more than just places to play. They are spaces where families create memories, neighbors build connections, and communities come together,” Fong said.
Mayor Man said Temple City is one of the most park-poor cities in Los Angeles County and that expanding green space is a longstanding priority; the new park will turn an underutilized property into a welcoming space.
