Fifth Circuit Denies Cancellation-of-Removal Petition in Jasso Martinez v. Blanche

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit denied a petition for review on October 26 (No. 26-60099, Jasso Martinez v. Blanche), upholding a Board of Immigration Appeals order against Marco Antonio Jasso Martinez, a native and citizen of Mexico, who sought cancellation of removal.
The per curiam panel found that Jasso Martinez failed to establish that his removal would cause “exceptional and extremely unusual hardship” to a qualifying relative under 8 U.S.C. § 1229b(b)(1)(D), applying Wilkinson v. Garland, and denied the petition.
