Forgent Power Solutions announced on October 26 that it has chosen the Arena District in Columbus, Franklin County, Ohio, for a corporate office expansion that will create 85 jobs and $12 million in new annual payroll. The Ohio Department of Development said the project has received a state tax credit, and that the Ohio Tax Credit Authority reviewed economic development proposals from JobsOhio and its regional partners at its monthly meeting. The company will invest $3 million to build out a new office on West Nationwide Boulevard, leasing 90,000 square feet for 10 years. The new office will serve as a hub for customer support, project management and supply chain, finance, human resources and corporate strategy. Chief Executive Officer Gary Niederpruem, an Ohio native, said Columbus offers exceptional talent and proximity to key customers, making it an ideal location for the company's continued growth. The Department of Development said the Tax Credit Authority approved 10 projects statewide the same day, expected to create 1,359 new jobs and more than $142 million in combined new annual payroll, three of them in Central Ohio. Columbus Mayor Andrew Ginther said Forgent's decision is a long-term commitment that will bring a growing team downtown, fill a large amount of office space and create quality jobs.
