Third Alabama Man Pleads Guilty in Multistate Pharmacy Burglary Ring, Faces Up to 10 Years

The U.S. Department of Justice announced that Demirus White, 25, of Northport, Alabama, has pleaded guilty in the Southern District of Mississippi to conspiracy to commit pharmacy burglaries, becoming the third member of a multistate ring to plead guilty or be sentenced. The crew targeted pharmacies across the Southeast, including in Petal, Florence, Flora, Mathiston, Starkville, Belzoni and Wiggins, Mississippi, with additional burglaries in Tennessee, Florida and Alabama. The plea was announced by U.S. Attorney Baxter Kruger of the Southern District of Mississippi and DEA Acting Assistant Special Agent in Charge Warner "Brooks" Benson.
Prosecutors said investigators identified White and co-conspirators Kendrell Cross and Xavier Jennings through phone records placing them near multiple burglaries, data extracted from their phones, and Cross's DNA recovered from a burglarized pharmacy. The ring used stolen high-performance vehicles to commit the burglaries and flee police. Cross, who was arrested after stealing a vehicle from a dealership in Laurel, Mississippi, and fleeing, was previously sentenced to 41 months in prison and ordered to pay $116,008.11 in restitution. Jennings is scheduled to be sentenced on November 5, 2026, and White on March 2, 2027; each faces a statutory maximum of 10 years. White's plea admits the charged conspiracy; his sentence will be determined by the court.
