San Diego County Community Development Block Grant Applications Close October 30: Fiscal 2027-28 Funds Cover Capital and Service Projects

Monday, October 26, 2026 · California · GSM News

SAN DIEGO COUNTY, California — The County of San Diego's Housing and Community Development Services (HCDS) reminds applicants that the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) application for the fiscal year 2027-2028 period closes on October 30, 2026, after opening on September 21.

The county cautions that the online application does not allow applicants to save their progress. Applicants should first review the FY 2027-28 CDBG Application Guidebook and the application resources outlining the questions and instructions to confirm a project is viable and meets program eligibility and administrative requirements before starting. Capital projects and service projects each require their own budget template, and a conflict of interest form must be completed. All required supporting documents must be shared through a secured electronic document management system such as SharePoint, OneDrive or Dropbox and sent to [email protected].

For questions about the CDBG program, applicants can contact the HCDS CDBG team at (619) 346-3375 or by email, including contact Sarah Snook Brunson at (619) 346-3375.

The federal CDBG program is a long-running funding source for community development, housing and public service projects. Organizations planning to apply should complete submission before the October 30 deadline.
