CIYTI Light-Up Princess Costumes Recalled Ahead of Halloween: Button Batteries in Crown, Wand and Remote Within Children's Reach

Monday, October 26, 2026 · Life · GSM News

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced on October 22 that FoShanShiNanHaiQuNuoAiTongZhuangShangHang, of China, is recalling about 94 CIYTI Light-Up Princess Costumes, recall number 27-038. The CPSC said the costumes violate the mandatory safety standard for toys because the button cell batteries in the crown, the wand and the remote control can be accessed easily by children, creating a deadly ingestion hazard: if swallowed, button cell or coin batteries can cause serious injuries, including internal chemical burns, and death.

The recalled set includes a blue dress, a light-up crown and wand, and a remote control. It was sold online at Amazon from February 2025 through June 2025 for between $21 and $35, and was manufactured in China. No incidents or injuries had been reported in connection with the costumes when the recall was announced.

Consumers should immediately take the costumes away from children and stop using them. To receive a full refund, consumers should write "RECALLED" with a permanent marker on the dress, crown, wand and remote, throw away the items, and email a photo of the disposed items to [email protected]. The same CPSC posting included several other button-battery actions, including the recall of about 6,533 BAMAMON LED projecting finger light toys for the same kind of violation. With Halloween approaching, the commission urges parents to check that battery compartments on light-up costumes and props are secure.
