Birmingham, Jefferson County, Alabama — The 2026 Alabama High School Athletic Association (AHSAA) volleyball state tournament opened on Tuesday, October 27, at the Birmingham CrossPlex and runs for three days. It is the first tournament since the association split public and private schools into separate classifications, with teams in eight classes — six public and two private — competing for state championships.

Classes 6A, 1A and the two private classes opened play on October 27: 6A quarterfinals at 9 a.m., 6A and Private AA semifinals at 4 p.m., and 1A and Private A semifinals at 6 p.m. The 6A and private-class finals are set for October 28, while Classes 2A through 5A begin on October 28 and decide their champions on October 29. Every class field is made up of the top four finishers from regional play, with each regional's top seed facing the fourth seed and the second seed facing the third. Five teams — McGill-Toolen, Spanish Fort, Guntersville, Mobile Christian and Addison — are trying to defend their titles. The tournament is streamed on the NFHS Network, and the full schedule and scores are as published by the AHSAA.
