San Francisco One-Bedroom Median Rent Hits Record $4,430, Up 26.2% Year Over Year: Zumper

SAN FRANCISCO, San Francisco County, California — The median asking rent for a one-bedroom apartment in San Francisco rose to a record $4,430 a month, up 26.2% from a year earlier, the largest increase among the 100 largest US cities, according to the national rent report released by Zumper on October 27.
The median two-bedroom rent in the city was $6,320, up 27.9% year over year, after standing at $6,340 in September. Zumper attributed part of San Francisco's rent growth to new housing demand from hiring in the superintelligence (SI) industry, combined with limited new housing supply.
