The White House said on October 26 that President Donald Trump returned to Mississippi that day to highlight his administration's record on tax relief, investment and rural healthcare in the state. According to the White House, Mississippi secured $206 million in first-year funding from the Working Families Tax Cuts' Rural Health Transformation Program, one of the largest awards among all states; Mississippi taxpayers saw average refunds of $4,018 in 2026, and approximately 500,000 seniors benefit from the new senior deduction, with the average senior expected to pay zero federal taxes on Social Security benefits.

The White House said the tax cuts safeguarded 46,000 Mississippi jobs, $8 billion in state GDP and $4 billion in workers' wages; made the increased death tax exemption permanent and indexed it for inflation, made 100% expensing permanent, doubled the Section 179 limit and made the 20% small business deduction permanent. It said the farm safety net and conservation programs delivered more than $469 million to Mississippi farmers, producers and landowners.

On rural healthcare, the White House said the administration awarded more than $104 million through 167 grants for Mississippi rural health technology upgrades, specialty and maternal care, and telehealth, and awarded the University of Mississippi Medical Center $4.25 million to renew its status as a federal Center of Excellence in Telehealth, one of only two in the country.

On investment, the White House listed company announcements including xAI investing $20 billion to build a data center in Southaven, Amazon investing an additional $12 billion in part to expand its Madison County data center operation, Siemens Energy investing $300 million to build a manufacturing facility for electrical grid components in Pearl creating up to 300 jobs, and Southwire investing $256 million to expand its Starkville operations creating 128 jobs. It also said the Navy in October awarded Ingalls Shipbuilding in Pascagoula a $99 million contract for sea trials of USS Lyndon B. Johnson.

On infrastructure and disaster aid, the White House said Trump in August approved Mississippi's disaster declaration request for counties impacted by Tropical Storm Arthur, and that in October the administration awarded a $44 million grant to expand the I-55/I-69 corridor in DeSoto County from four to ten lanes. All figures are as published by the White House.
