Cowboys Beat Eagles 38-21 to End Two-Game Skid: Dak Prescott Throws 3 TDs, Javonte Williams Runs for Career-High 155 Yards

The Dallas Cowboys defeated the Philadelphia Eagles 38-21 in Monday Night Football at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on October 26, ending a two-game losing streak and improving to 3-4, while the injury-depleted Eagles lost their fifth straight game to fall to 2-5. According to NBC Sports and USA Today, Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott, who had called the divisional game a must-win before kickoff, completed 15 of 27 passes for 212 yards and three touchdowns with no interceptions, for a 118.1 passer rating.
Prescott's three touchdown passes went to two receivers: CeeDee Lamb caught five passes for 74 yards and two touchdowns, and George Pickens had four catches for 57 yards and one touchdown. The lead changed hands six times; with 1:30 left in the third quarter, Lamb's 16-yard touchdown catch and Prescott's two-point conversion put Dallas ahead 28-21, a lead it never gave back. The quarter scores were 10-7, 10-7, 8-7 and 10-0 for Dallas.
The ground game was the Cowboys' other pillar: Dallas ran 38 times for 204 yards, more attempts than its 27 passes. Running back Javonte Williams carried 25 times for a career-high 155 yards and one touchdown, becoming the Cowboys' first 150-yard rusher since Ezekiel Elliott in 2018. Head coach Brian Schottenheimer, criticized for abandoning the run in the second half a week earlier, leaned heavily on the rushing attack.
For Philadelphia, starting quarterback Jalen Hurts remained out and Tanner McKee started a second straight week, completing 23 of 35 passes for 211 yards with one touchdown and one interception, picked off by linebacker DeMarvion Overshown. Receivers DeVonta Smith and Dontayvion Wicks were among those ruled out before the game. Running back Saquon Barkley, returning after missing two games with a hamstring injury, ran seven times for 62 yards and a touchdown before leaving with a back injury; fellow running back Dameon Pierce, who had 14 carries for 47 yards and a touchdown, also exited in the fourth quarter with an undisclosed injury. The Eagles defense recorded zero tackles for loss.
After the game, the NFC East standings read: New York Giants (4-2-1), Cowboys (3-4), Eagles (2-5) and Washington Commanders (1-4-1). The league's trade deadline is November 10.
