A Davenport, Iowa, man was sentenced on October 27, 2026, to 340 months in federal prison for conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine, carrying a firearm during and in relation to a drug trafficking offense, and possessing a firearm as a felon, U.S. Attorney David C. Waterman of the Southern District of Iowa announced.

According to public court documents and evidence presented at sentencing, in January 2025, Baylee Andrew Snyder, 29, was found in possession of approximately one pound of methamphetamine and a loaded revolver in his vehicle and a loaded pistol on his person. Snyder admitted that he purchased pound quantities of methamphetamine for distribution in Chicago and worked with others to distribute methamphetamine within the Southern District of Iowa.

A few months later, in May 2025, Snyder was arrested again while traveling from Chicago to Iowa with multiple pounds of methamphetamine, two loaded firearms, and almost $2,000. He admitted he continued to work with others to distribute pound quantities of methamphetamine in the Southern District of Iowa while carrying multiple firearms for protection. After completing his term of imprisonment, Snyder will serve a five-year term of supervised release; there is no parole in the federal system. The Bettendorf Police Department investigated the case.
