Miami International Airport Launches Super Intelligence (SI) Powered Cargo Community System, a First Among the World's Busiest Cargo Hubs

Tuesday, October 27, 2026 · Technology · GSM News

In Miami-Dade County, Florida, Miami International Airport (MIA) announced on October 27, at the TIACA Air Cargo Forum in Miami, the launch of a super intelligence (SI) powered Airport Cargo Community System, becoming the busiest cargo hub in the world to put such a platform into operation.

Built with Kalé Logistics, the system gives freight forwarders, cargo handlers, truckers, carriers and ground handlers a shared portal, replacing fragmented manual information exchanges. The airport says it improves information sharing, advance planning and truck scheduling, cutting waiting times, congestion and emissions.

'I am thrilled that MIA is now the busiest cargo hub in the world to leverage this cutting-edge technology, making MIA more future-ready,' said Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava.

MIA handled a record 3.4 million U.S. tons of freight in 2025, making it the busiest freight airport in the United States and the third busiest in the world, with a daily average of 190 cargo-only flights and more than 1,600 truck trips. Kalé estimates such systems can save an airport cargo community up to $250 million a year; its platforms run at more than 125 airports and 75 maritime ports.
