Taylor Farms Recalls H-E-B Backyard BBQ Chop Salad Kits Sold in Texas Over Undeclared Soy and Almonds: FDA Posted the Recall on October 27

Tuesday, October 27, 2026 · Health · GSM News

Taylor Farms of Dallas, in Dallas County, Texas, announced on October 27, 2026, that it is recalling H-E-B Backyard BBQ Chop Salad Kits sold at H-E-B stores in Texas, because the product may contain undeclared soy and tree nuts (almonds). The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) posted the recall announcement on its website the same day.

The recalled product is packaged in 13.4-ounce plastic bags, with a Best If Used By date of October 30, 2026, and UPC 041220300457, printed on the back of the package. It was distributed only to H-E-B stores located in Texas. According to H-E-B's announcement, people who have a sensitivity or allergy to soy and tree nuts (almonds) may be at risk of a serious adverse reaction if they consume the product. As of the announcement, no adverse reactions to the product had been reported, and no other Taylor Farms salad kits are included in the recall.

Customers who purchased the product should not consume it. It can be disposed of or returned to the store for a full refund. Questions can be directed to Taylor Farms at (855) 455-0098, Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Pacific Time.

Both H-E-B and the FDA describe the recall as a labeling issue involving undeclared allergens. The FDA has previously said it concluded its investigation of this summer's cyclospora outbreak on October 2; this salad kit recall is not related to that outbreak.
