Chinese Culture Booth Draws Crowds at Washington's 21st Mitchell Park Fall Fun Day, Attended by 600+ Residents

The 21st Mitchell Park Fall Fun Day was held in Washington, D.C., on October 25. Hosted by the nonprofit Friends of Mitchell Park, the community celebration featured booths from more than 20 community organizations and foreign missions in the park, drawing more than 600 local residents.
The Chinese culture booth was among the most popular stops. It offered hands-on activities including mask painting, glove making, face painting, a martial arts demonstration, writing the character "fu" (good fortune), and a Q&A quiz, along with Chinese pastries for visitors to taste. Many parents lined up with their children to take part.
Booth staff also introduced policies facilitating travel to China and people-to-people exchanges, and answered questions about traveling and studying in China.
Mitchell Park sits in Washington's Kalorama neighborhood in the northwest of the city. Fall Fun Day is an annual tradition of more than 20 years at the park; this year's event also included a costume parade, pumpkin painting, a haunted house, live music and a fire truck display.
