CFTC to Publish Commitments of Traders Report Twice Weekly by End of 2026

The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) announced on October 27 (Release No. 9316-26) that, according to Chairman Michael S. Selig, the agency's Commitments of Traders (COT) report will move from once-weekly to twice-weekly publication, with implementation planned by the end of 2026.
The COT report breaks down the positions held by commercial, non-commercial and other traders across futures and options markets and is a widely watched source of public data on market positioning. It is currently released on Friday afternoons, reflecting positions as of the preceding Tuesday.
Under the twice-weekly schedule, the report is expected to be published on Wednesdays and Fridays at 3:30 p.m. Eastern Time, Bloomberg reported, noting that the push for more frequent publication was driven by demand from the agricultural industry and other market participants for more timely data.
