LAUSD Holds 11th Annual Choices Fair November 7 at LA Trade-Tech College, Free Admission

Wednesday, October 28, 2026 · California · GSM News

The Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD), in the City of Los Angeles, Los Angeles County, California, announced that its 11th annual Choices Fair will be held on Saturday, November 7, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Los Angeles Trade-Technical College. The event is free for families of students in all grades, with no advance registration required.

The fair brings together the district's school-choice programs in one place, including Magnet schools, dual-language immersion programs, International Baccalaureate (IB) pathways and career education options. Families can speak directly with program representatives and ask about applications and deadlines. The district notes that the unified Choices application window runs from October 1 to November 14, with late applications opening December 1; the fair falls inside the main window, letting families compare programs in person before applying.

LAUSD is the second-largest school district in the United States, and its Choices system serves tens of thousands of families each year. The district suggests parents bring their child's current school and grade information so staff can recommend programs and schools by grade level and interest, and language assistance including Spanish will be available on site.

The event takes place on the campus of Los Angeles Trade-Technical College, just south of downtown and near Metro stations. Parking and entry details are posted on the district's event page, and families can preview the list of participating programs and application guidance on LAUSD's Choices pages before attending.
