San Diego's December Nights Returns December 4 and 5 to Balboa Park: The City's Largest Free Holiday Festival
Balboa Park in San Diego, San Diego County, California, hosts December Nights on December 4 and 5: Friday, December 4 from 4 to 10 p.m. and Saturday, December 5 from noon to 10 p.m., with lights, stage performances, attractions and food from around the world across the park. Admission is free.
According to the City of San Diego's official event page, December Nights is the city's largest free holiday festival and draws more than 350,000 people over two days. This year the city is partnering with SDG&E on a sock drive benefiting unsheltered clients of PATH San Diego: attendees can drop off a new pair of socks at the SDG&E booth in the Plaza de Panama. Participating park museums open during the festival (see each museum's notice for details). The city warns that a fraudulent online account has impersonated contracted personnel to solicit payments; vendor and entertainer applications are handled only through the official portals linked from the city page, and neither the city nor its contractor requests payment through Zelle or other peer-to-peer platforms.
