118th Newport Beach Christmas Boat Parade Runs December 16 to 20: More Than 100 Decorated Boats on a 14-Mile Harbor Route, Free Shore Viewing

Newport Harbor in Newport Beach, Orange County, California, hosts the 118th Christmas Boat Parade from December 16 to 20: each night from about 6:30 to 9 p.m., more than 100 decorated yachts, boats, kayaks and canoes sail a roughly 14-mile harbor route. Shore viewing is free.
According to the host, the Commodores Club of the Newport Beach Chamber of Commerce, and the city's visitor bureau, the parade starts and ends at the tip of Lido Isle each night and passes Marina Park, Balboa Island and the Balboa Peninsula. Opening night, December 16, begins with fireworks off the Newport Pier at about 6:15 p.m., and drone shows fly over Balboa Bay Resort and Peninsula Park on all five nights (see the organizer's page for times). Bayfront homes along the route join the Ring of Lights decorating competition and stay lit through the season. Marina Park is the largest public viewing area on the route, with 177 parking spaces.
The parade runs December 16 to 20, 2026, nightly from about 6:30 to 9 p.m. Venue: Newport Harbor, Newport Beach, CA. Cost: free shore viewing. Information is posted by the organizer at christmasboatparade.com. This is a free event.
