First Responders Children's Foundation Honors 19 Heroes in Times Square: Jon Stewart Hosts the Seventh Roll Call of Heroes
NEW YORK, New York County, New York — The First Responders Children's Foundation (FRCF) honored 19 first responders from across the country on October 28 at its seventh annual National First Responders Day 'Roll Call of Heroes' ceremony in Times Square, hosted by Jon Stewart and presented by T-Mobile, awarding each the 'Hero of Honor' medal.
The honorees span firefighters, emergency medical services, 911 dispatch, local and federal law enforcement, leadership, collective natural disaster response, and volunteer and junior first responders. New this year, the foundation accepted public nominations, encouraging individuals across the country to identify outstanding first responders in their communities. A new Leadership Award, sponsored by T-Priority, T-Mobile's first responder network, went to Chad Huff of Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services in Canton, Georgia.
FRCF is the only national nonprofit dedicated to serving the children and families of first responders. This year's ceremony also marks the foundation's 25th anniversary, 25 years since 9/11, and America's 250th birthday. The event was livestreamed.
