Air Opens New Tech Hub in Pittsburgh's Strip District: 35,536 Square Feet, Latest Step in 10-Year $450 Million Regional Expansion

PITTSBURGH, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania — Enterprise-readiness technology company Air announced on October 27 that its new technology hub in Pittsburgh's Strip District has officially opened. The 35,536-square-foot center is the latest step in the company's previously announced 10-year, $450 million expansion across southwestern Pennsylvania (reported October 28).
The regional commitment spans payroll, taxes, employee benefits and capital investment, including an initial $10 million capital investment to build out the new office. Air's Pittsburgh workforce has grown nearly 67% over the past year, and the new hub will support continued investment in software engineering, computer architecture and infrastructure, and product development, including work on its super intelligence (SI) platforms.
Air CEO Tara Murphy Dougherty said Pittsburgh's highly skilled workforce, world-class academic institutions and vibrant technology ecosystem make the city an ideal engine for developing the company's 'AI-native' platform.
