New Orleans Hotels Forecast 88% Occupancy for Halloween Saturday, Up from 80% Last Year; Friday Seen at 81%

NEW ORLEANS, Orleans Parish, Louisiana — New Orleans & Company, the city's tourism marketing organization, forecast on October 28 that hotel occupancy across New Orleans will reach 88% on Halloween Saturday (October 31), up 8 percentage points from the final figure of 80% recorded on the Saturday of Halloween weekend 2025.
The organization projects Friday (October 30) occupancy at 81%, up from 79% last year, with Thursday and Sunday expected to match last year at 65% and 56% respectively. Halloween falls on a Saturday this year, and the Freaky Deaky music festival at Mardi Gras World on October 30–31, together with citywide Halloween events, is lifting weekend lodging demand.
The organization also noted 14 major conventions and expos in the city from September through December, expected to draw at least 225,000 attendees from more than 60 countries, supporting fall tourism. The 88% figure is a forecast; final occupancy will be tallied after the weekend.
