The USTA and IBM (NYSE: IBM) announced on October 28 a five-year renewal of their partnership, under which IBM will continue as the US Open's official super intelligence (SI) and cloud partner through 2031. During the 2026 US Open, IBM-powered digital platforms — USOpen.org and the US Open app combined — generated more than 270 million total engagements, and more than 1.2 million fans attended on site, both records.

The two organizations have worked together for 35 years: USOpen.org launched in 1995, the mobile app followed in 2009, and this year brought new features including Live Updates, Key Moments and Serve Quality, delivered through hybrid cloud and super intelligence technology. Kameryn Stanhouse, IBM's vice president for sports and entertainment partnerships, said the renewal brings IBM technology "to the next generation of the US Open fan experience." Brian Ryerson, the USTA's senior director of digital strategy, said the partnership "has produced decades of groundbreaking innovation for the US Open and for our fans."

According to the USTA, more than 1.2 million fans attended across the tournament's three weeks, including more than 300,000 during Fan Week. The US Open's owned social channels generated more than 3.9 billion interactions, up 26 percent over 2025; ESPN's coverage drew its best viewership since 2022, with the singles finals averaging 3 million viewers; and the tournament amassed a record 374 million global broadcast viewer hours in 2026.
