King Tides Erode Pacifica Cliffs in California, Leaving Cliffside Homes Near Collapse; Los Angeles and San Francisco Set Tidal Flooding Records

In Pacifica, a city in San Mateo County, California, king tides continued to batter the California coast, leaving cliffside homes and buildings on the verge of collapse, Weather.com reported on October 28. Erosion has exposed pipes and foundations, and little ground remains at the cliff edge. The report warned this week's tides could still affect local residents and businesses.
On the same day, Los Angeles and San Francisco set tidal-flooding records, coastal flood advisories remained in effect, and tidal flooding along the West Coast was expected to continue through Friday.
