Culver City Fire Department Offers Free CERT Training November 7 and 14 at Fire Station 1

Wednesday, October 28, 2026 · Activities · GSM News

The Culver City Fire Department, in Los Angeles County, California, will hold free Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training on Saturday, November 7 and Saturday, November 14, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. each day, at Fire Station 1, 9600 Culver Boulevard.

CERT training teaches residents the basic skills to help themselves and their neighbors in a disaster, covering disaster preparedness, fire safety, disaster medical operations and light search and rescue. The course is free and open to community members; graduates can join the local CERT volunteer team.

Registration is handled through the Culver City Fire Foundation. The city published the training notice through its official channels on October 28.

CERT is a grassroots preparedness program promoted by FEMA; after major disasters such as earthquakes, trained residents are a community's first line of mutual aid before professional responders arrive.
