Bank of America Announces Expansion in New Orleans, Louisiana, on October 28: Greater New Orleans Footprint to Grow from Second Half of 2027

New Orleans, Orleans Parish, Louisiana: Bank of America announced a new branch expansion plan on October 28, 2026, including expanding in Greater New Orleans in the second half of 2027, opening 19 branches in Wisconsin by 2030 and creating 130 jobs, and opening 10 branches in Birmingham, Alabama, from the first quarter of 2027. The bank said it is on course to open about 50 branches a year across the United States; it currently has 3,500 branches and financial centers covering 83% of the U.S. population, and has invested more than $5 billion in its branch network since 2016. Holly O'Neill, president of consumer, retail and preferred banking, said the bank chooses markets based on their growth dynamics, population and its opportunity to grow the business, and continues to strategically enhance and expand its branch network. For New Orleans, the plan means local residents and businesses will have more in-person banking options after the second half of 2027.
