The Los Angeles County Department of Parks and Recreation released its Fall 2026 Programming Guide on October 27, collecting a season of free meals, after-school activities, festivals and introductory golf across county parks in Los Angeles County, California, most of it free for residents of all ages.
A free snack program runs from September 1, 2026 through May 21, 2027 at 49 county parks, Monday through Friday from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m., for young people ages 18 and under. The free Every Body Plays after-school program operates from 2:30 to 6:00 p.m.
New this year is the Drop Zone youth golf program, offering free instruction for ages 11 to 14 at five county courses, with 90-minute sessions, a maximum of 21 students and a 7-to-1 coach ratio. Whittier Narrows started on October 25; El Cariso follows on December 5 and Maggie Hathaway on December 6, with Los Amigos and Eaton Canyon dates to be announced.
Seasonal events include Día de los Muertos celebrations on October 30 from 5 to 8 p.m. at San Gabriel River Park, November 1 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Stoneview Nature Center, and November 6 from 4 to 6 p.m. in San Dimas; a Trick or Treat Village at 59 parks from October 20 to 31; and Harvest Festivals at 50 parks from November 10 to 24.
Department Director Norma E. García-González said the guide gathers the whole county park system's fall offerings in one place so residents can find free family programs close to home. Session details and registration are on the department's website.
