Culture & Entertainment: MoMA's Brancusi Exhibition Fills Its Sixth Floor Through February 27, 2027

The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in Manhattan, New York County, New York, is presenting the major exhibition Brancusi: The Artist and His Studio at 11 West 53rd Street. Spanning the museum's entire sixth floor, the show runs from October 25, 2026, through February 27, 2027, and surveys the work of Romanian-born sculptor Constantin Brancusi (1876-1957) through his Paris studio.
From 1916 until his death, Brancusi lived, worked and received friends and clients at his studio on impasse Ronsin in Paris, a space that itself became a work of art. The exhibition brings rarely lent sculptures from the Centre Pompidou's Atelier Brancusi into dialogue with MoMA's own collection and local loans, alongside his hand-carved furniture and bases, films, photographs, tools and archival materials. Works on view include Leda, Bird in Space and Fish, as well as versions of The Kiss and other themes.
The exhibition coincides with the 150th anniversary of Brancusi's birth and is supported by the Romanian Cultural Institute in New York, which organized a cultural event at MoMA on October 28 with Romanian and American curators and specialists. An accompanying publication features more than 130 photographs taken by Brancusi himself. Curator Umland has noted that Brancusi often said he wanted his works to be experienced together, in relation to one another, and that this exhibition gives New York audiences an opportunity to do exactly that.
