EdgeCore Closes $521 Million Green Financing Backed by Its Santa Clara SV01 Data Center, Lifting Financable Capacity to 62 MW

Data center developer EdgeCore Digital Infrastructure announced on October 28 that it has closed a $521 million asset-backed securities (ABS) financing, with proceeds to refinance a construction loan and support future green data center development. The deal is backed by the company's SV01 data center in Santa Clara, Santa Clara County, California, a fully stabilized facility with 36 megawatts of IT capacity.

It is EdgeCore's second ABS transaction. Together with its inaugural deal in 2025, the company's securitized financable IT capacity now totals 62 megawatts, more than double the previous level. Both buildings at the SV01 campus are fully leased to a single high-investment-grade hyperscale tenant.

The issuance is designated as a green bond under EdgeCore's Green Financing Framework, in alignment with the International Capital Market Association's Green Bond Principles. Julie Brewer, the company's executive vice president of finance, said that in an industry environment marked by delays in power delivery, supply chains and capital deployment, the transaction shows EdgeCore can deliver data center capacity with certainty.

MUFG served as sole structuring advisor on the deal, with ING and MUFG as joint bookrunners and First Citizens Capital Securities and Huntington Capital Markets as co-managers. King & Spalding acted as company counsel and Milbank as counsel to the underwriters.

Headquartered in Denver, Colorado, EdgeCore operates data center campuses in six North American markets and was acquired by Swiss investment firm Partners Group in late 2022. Santa Clara is one of Silicon Valley's most concentrated data center markets, where power supply and land are the main constraints on further expansion.
