San Francisco DA Announces Oct. 30 It Will Not Charge Driver Who Struck and Killed GLIDE Worker Justin Randall, Citing Insufficient Evidence; Case Remains Open

The San Francisco District Attorney's Office announced on October 30 that it will not file criminal charges against the driver who struck and killed GLIDE worker Justin Randall, citing insufficient evidence, though the case remains open and could be reconsidered if new evidence emerges. The crash occurred at about 1 a.m. on October 25 on the 800 block of Ellis Street in the city's Tenderloin district, where Randall was hit in the street and fatally injured; the driver fled the scene and was later found and arrested on Treasure Island.
The DA's office said that while police had probable cause to arrest based on the evidence collected, a full review found insufficient evidence to bring charges it could prove beyond a reasonable doubt.
