The annual Florida-Georgia football rivalry game will kick off at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 31, at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, broadcast on ABC. According to a preview issued by University of Florida athletics on October 29, the game moves to Atlanta this year because EverBank Stadium in Jacksonville is under renovation, a change of setting for the storied rivalry.

The No. 17 Florida Gators are 5-2 overall and 3-2 in the SEC, while the No. 3 Georgia Bulldogs are 6-1 and 4-1 in the conference, with both teams in the College Football Playoff race. Florida linebacker Myles Graham said it is a rivalry game that counts in both the overall and conference records, a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and that the team wants to be in this position.

Georgia has been a playoff regular under head coach Kirby Smart since 2016, while Florida has never reached the playoff, one of the reasons first-year head coach Jon Sumrall was hired. Sumrall said that to be the best you have to beat the best, and that beating the Bulldogs would speed up the building of his program. Georgia has won five straight in the series, a streak Florida will try to end on Saturday.
