Kim Kardashian revealed in an Instagram video posted on Wednesday, October 28, that she was invited into Elizabeth Taylor's home shortly after the screen legend's death in March 2011 and shown the jewelry still kept in her safe before the house was cleared out, People reported.

"When she passed away, I was brought into her home [and] shown her safe with all of her jewelry before they cleared it out," Kardashian told the Bulgari team in the video. "So, I was able to see everything in her home and her jewelry still in her safe and all of her stuff still [there], her furniture. I was able to go in there like right after she passed. I know that sounds insane, but I was able to see this stuff in her purple closet." She added that she had spoken with Taylor by phone about the necklace before Taylor's death.

The piece is Taylor's iconic emerald and diamond Bulgari necklace, pulled from the jeweler's archives for the occasion. In the video, Kardashian wore the necklace during a photoshoot in Rome, with her mother Kris Jenner alongside as the Bulgari team presented the archive jewels. Jenner teased her daughter, "How does it feel, Liz?" Kardashian later FaceTimed her stylist to show off the necklace, calling it "the best birthday present ever," and captioned the post, "If these jewels could talk…"

According to People, Kardashian has made several nods to Taylor during the press tour for the second season of All's Fair: in the show she recreated a look Taylor wore to Princess Grace of Monaco's 40th birthday celebration at the Hôtel Hermitage in Monte-Carlo in 1969, and she attended the 2026 Academy Museum Gala on October 17 in a 1951 Balenciaga gown with a vintage-inspired hairstyle and diamond jewelry.
