PACCAR Recalls 26,729 Kenworth and Peterbilt Trucks: Fuel Hose May Disconnect and Leak, Causing Stalls or Fire

Thursday, October 29, 2026 · Life · GSM News

Truck maker PACCAR has reported a safety recall to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) covering 26,729 Kenworth and Peterbilt trucks. The recall includes certain 2022-2027 Kenworth T270, T280, T370, T380 and T480 models, along with Peterbilt 536, 537, 548 and 567 models.

The defect involves fuel hoses on the trucks' Cummins PX9 engines: a hose could disconnect and leak diesel fuel. A leak could cause the engine to stall while driving, and fuel leaking near an ignition source could also start a fire.

PACCAR reported the recall to NHTSA on October 21. The NHTSA campaign number is 26V700000 and PACCAR's recall number is 26PACJ.

The remedy is free: dealers will replace the affected fuel hoses at no charge. Owner notification letters are scheduled to begin mailing on December 20.

Not every truck of these models is included. Owners and fleets can check a vehicle identification number (VIN) on NHTSA's recall lookup page; drivers who smell diesel, see a fuel leak or get a low fuel pressure warning should contact a dealer promptly.
