KBR, Inc., the Houston, Texas-based engineering and technology services company, reported fiscal third-quarter 2026 results on October 29: revenue of $2.028 billion, up 5% year over year; net income attributable to KBR of $133 million, up 16%; and diluted earnings per share of $1.06, up 18%. The company trades on the NYSE under the ticker KBR.
Operating income was $186 million, down 3%, which the company attributed mainly to higher costs associated with its planned separation. Adjusted EBITDA was $268 million, up 12%, at a margin of 13.2%, and adjusted earnings per share were $1.12, up 10%.
Bookings and options totaled $2.4 billion in the quarter, and backlog plus options stood at $23.1 billion at quarter end. The Sustainable Technology Solutions segment grew revenue 26% to $762 million, with backlog reaching a record $5.8 billion, while Mission Technology Solutions revenue fell 5% to $1.266 billion, mainly on anticipated reductions in NASA programs.
New awards in the quarter included re-award of the $8 billion-ceiling Antarctic Science and Engineering Support Contract for the U.S. National Science Foundation, a $208 million U.S. Army Tactical Aviation and Ground Munitions task order, and a $60 million NATO PATRIOT air and missile defense support contract.
President and chief executive Stuart Bradie said the company achieved important separation milestones in the quarter, including publication of the Form 10 and implementation of key standalone systems, and that KBR and the spun-off Trinzic are positioned to launch as independent companies in January 2027. Liquidity totaled about $1.1 billion at quarter end, net leverage was 2.1x, and the company reaffirmed its fiscal 2026 guidance.
