STMicroelectronics reported third-quarter 2026 results on October 29 in Geneva. For the quarter ended September 26, 2026, net revenues were $3.76 billion, up 17.9% year over year and above the mid-point of the company's outlook, with gross margin of 37.3%, operating income of $367 million and net income of $291 million, or $0.31 diluted earnings per share. On a non-U.S. GAAP basis, operating income was $429 million and net income was $344 million, or $0.37 per diluted share.

Jean-Marc Chery, ST President and CEO, said third-quarter net revenues came above the mid-point of the business outlook, driven by higher revenues in CECP and Personal Electronics, and gross margin was also above the mid-point. He said demand increased further during the quarter, supported by strong bookings and improving visibility, while inventory in distribution continued to track below the company's standard target.

By segment, Embedded Processing revenues rose 24.1% year over year and RF Optical Communications revenues rose 46.2%, while Analog products, MEMS and Sensors revenues rose 8.8%. Net cash from operating activities was $1.02 billion in the quarter and free cash flow was $351 million. ST paid $83 million in cash dividends and executed a $91 million share buyback in the quarter, and its net financial position stood at $2.11 billion as of September 26, 2026.

For the fourth quarter, ST guided net revenues to $4.15 billion at the mid-point, up about 10.5% sequentially and about 24.7% year over year, with gross margin of about 39.0%. The mid-point translates into full-year 2026 revenues of about $14.5 billion, up 22.8% year over year, supported by company-specific growth drivers including AI datacenters and LEO satellite communication, the company said.
