CPSC: Harkla Recalls About 25,541 Children's Sensory Swings as Ceiling Hook Can Separate: 29 Reports, 14 Injuries, Free Replacement Kits

Thursday, October 29, 2026 · Life · GSM News

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced on October 29 that Harkla is recalling about 25,541 children's sensory swings because the swing's ceiling hook can separate from its mounting plate, causing the swing to fall and posing a risk of serious injury from a fall hazard.

According to the CPSC, Harkla has received 29 reports of the swing's ceiling hook separating, including 14 injuries that resulted in two concussions, a broken arm, bumps and bruises.

According to Harkla's official recall page, the recall covers blue Harkla Compression Sensory Swings sold between March 2020 and December 2025 with a 4-holed ceiling hook mounting plate. Swings with the 2-hole single-cast ceiling hook are not included in this recall.

The remedy is a free replacement: consumers with a recalled swing should stop using it immediately and request a free Hardware Replacement Kit from Harkla. The kit includes the updated 2-bolt, single-cast ceiling hook, new carabiners, a daisy chain and a safety strap, along with new installation instructions. Harkla says kits will be sent out beginning in November, about 10 days after a request is submitted.

Consumers can call Harkla toll-free at 844-442-7552 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. PT Monday through Friday, email [email protected], or use Harkla's recall page to request a kit.
